One line in a recent post on the News & Observer’s Wake Ed Blog ought to wake up anybody who isn’t already worried about what the new majority on the Wake County Board of Education has planned.
The post announces that Called2Action, which it describes as a [...]
Donna Martinez down at sister blog Right Angles passes along this clip from the ‘Tonight Show’ featuring William Shatner and Sarah Palin onstage together. It’s worth a watch, if you have nothing better to do on a cold Saturday morning.
[...]In consideration of the Copenhagen Cabal, Climategate and the current temperatures in North Carolina, I felt compelled to repost this photo (which, incidentally, was one of the most read posts on our blog the last time it ran). Too bad for the believers of the Global Warming religion [...]
Last week it was Guilford County Schools reaching new heights of asininity. This week it’s —- drum roll please—— Ed Cone.
You’d think the blogfather would at least appreciate the fact that Guarino is making the classic liberal argument that the proposed aquatic center will transfer wealth from hard-working [...]
Cal Cunningham has been all over the blogs and newspapers this week since he announced he was entering the race for U.S. Senate.
Another "Cal Cunningham" also got his name in print this week. This Cunningham, also a lawyer, was involved in a messy dispute over six-figure legal fees, [...]
I blogged last week about Obama’s joke of a “jobs summit,” outlining what the all-too-predictable results will be:
more government spending, more central planning, more government redistribution, concessions to big labor and other special interests, and less freedom.
I wasn’t exactly going out on a limb with such prognostications, but today’s [...]
The Rev. Heather Dillashaw Spencer of Homeward Bound of Asheville accepts cash raised at Spookypaooza 2009 from new Asheville City Council member and Asheville blogger/activist extraordinaire, Gordon Smith. Musing 1: The price of liberty is eternal vigilance. Some of you may have noticed I did not blog last night. I could make the excuse that it was time to claim some of that liberty I’ve been buying. Surrounded by exciting papers on Coulomb gauges, possible Machian propellantless propulsion, [...]
More confirmation today that the folks at the North Carolina-based anti-immigrant group ALIPAC have gone completely around the bend (and unlike some other stories on Dobbs of late, this one is for real!). This is from the national news blog, Talking Points Memo:
Americans for Legal Immigration PAC [...]
N.C. Republican Party chairman Tom Fetzer surprised some editors and reporters at The News & Observer recently when he said he had some positive feelings for the paper.
Executive Editor John Drescher noted on The Editors' Blog that Fetzer got his start in the Jesse Helms organization, which [...]
We’re talking ones that should have fresh content or just close up shop. Let’s start with Mecklenburg County’s very own Mecklenblog, inert since April 2008. It is a great name doing nothing.
A close second is UPoR’s Dr. Traffic blog. Steve Harrison has not posted since May, an epoch [...]

Fox, who gave $2,500 to Perdue's campaign during the 2007-2008 election cycle, will represent district seven, which includes: Alamance, Caswell, Guilford, Orange and Rockingham counties.
