Sean Delonas, the cartoonist who drew the ridiculous cartoon involving the chimp, is apparently from the Lehigh Valley... Bethlehem to be exact. Christopher Baxter, of The Morning Call, reports that Delonas has a home in the Bethlehem area.
Furious voices erupted Wednesday nation wide when a comic appeared in the New York Post linking President Barack Obama to a chimp.
Bethlehem Mayor John Callahan has announced his bid for re-election, despite not being challenged (yet.)
I just read an interesting article on YaHoo News. Associated Press writer Mark Carlson wrote:
I remember when I was a kid and it couldn't snow enough! No school, no homework, snowball fights, hockey, football, snowmen, skiing, etc. Now, I can't wait for it to melt! So much for Global Warming, eh?
Judging by the logo, this blog was created on Nov. 26, 2005. However, what many of you probably don't know is that the URL has been around a bit longer than that...
First off, happy New Year everyone! I hope everyone had a safe celebration (or in Molovinsky's case, a nap.) I'm not really making any resolutions, although, there are some things I'd like to accomplish. As a new year is upon us, I'm a year older and [...]
Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving when people wake at ungodly hours to save a few bucks on products that are usually of such low quality that they aren't sold all year round. Don't get me wrong; retailers offer some excellent deals for some very [...]
People think I'm just blowing smoke when I complain about parking at Moravian College. It's not that I can't find a parking space; I am usually at campus early enough to park wherever I want. Sometimes, when I have to come to campus later in the day,' [...]
Can you believe it? The 2008 election season will be ending in less than a day and we'll know who our next President will be. After having George W. Bush as my leader for eight years, I'm not crazy about anyone in politics, but we need a [...]
Remember who Martin Luther King, Jr., was? You know, he was the guy that gave a lot of speeches on equality and stuff. He also had that dream where his "four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by [...]
Like many people, my first real job was in fast food. I worked at the McDoanlds on Stefko Blvd. in Bethlehem when I was 14 years old. I would get out of school at 3 p.m., walk the mile to where I lived, get changed into my [...]
Back in January of 2002, I took a job washing trucks. It wasn't the greatest job in the world, but the pay was decent and I did it for nearly two years. I would wake up very early in the morning, drive the distance to Emmaus, get [...]
The other day, I was talking to a teacher. We had a very brief conversation. Speaking personally, I told her that teachers shouldn't be allowed to strike when it involves denying a child his or her education. The teacher looked at me like I was nuts and walked [...]
David Najarian of the Northern Lehigh Valley Logic blog wrote about a marathon he recently participated in. He ran an amazing 26 miles in just over five hours. There are probably some people who have trouble driving that distance in this area. But [...]
I returned to college over a year ago after already having accomplished an Associates Degree in Journalism. Now, I am in a new school facing all sorts of new [...]
I was tagged with the "Brillante Web Award" by Anne from Cooking With Anne. Anne is a Lehigh Valley native who has without any question the best (and kindest) cooking blog around. Anne is a mother of seven and still has time to [...]
Someone famous once said "war is hell" and it was repeated time and time again. To this day, that phrase is still spoken, written, sung, etc. I have a new phrase for all of you: School is hell!
Last week I wrote about how I see the worst in people. At my job, I witnessed a horrible person who began shouting out racial slurs in hopes of both expressing anger and hoping to get his way. I still can't believe how some people can [...]
A few months ago, when I was accepted (miraculously) into Moravian College, I took a tour of the campus. I've since forgotten almost everything! Classes start next week and since I'm less than not prepared, I took it upon myself to walk the buildings and get [...]
As a returning college student, I have been ejected from the career world and thrown back into the pre-career world. With that being said, it's no secret that my main supply of cash comes from employment at a popular retailer. I'm not happy with it, but I [...]
I was browsing the crap I've saved in my favorites folder and came across ZIPskinny, a Web site where you can type in a zip code and receive quick statistical information about the area.
As many of you know and probably a few are just learning, I don't like how The Morning Call allows hatred in their forums. Even more, I don't like how they openly encourage hatred for the sole sake of obtaining the almighty dollar.
Yes, it's 3:35 in the morning...
On Thursday, July 1, I sent an e-mail to various staff members at The Morning Call and The Express-Times, as well as some local politicians, bloggers, and readers. The content was regarding a TMC reader forum that was completely flooded with pure hatred.
I hope everyone had fun yesterday. The weather wasn't the greatest but the rain held back for the most part. The temperature was nice and calm, too, and to my surprise, it wasn't muggy at all (at least where I was.)
After verbally marginalizing both black and white citizens during Hillary Clinton's campaign, and now trying to give away our turnpike while tolling whatever roads he can, Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell admits, according to this report, that he wants to be the "secretary of energy or transportation" [...]
A couple of days ago, some bloggers in the Lehigh Valley blogosphere (some friends, some not so close) united in a common cause: To help grieving father Bill Villa be heard! I would have loved to see every single blogger in the Valley back him up, but [...]
When complaints about hatred and racism arise regarding The Morning Call, it’s often linked to Allentown. This post is to make everyone aware that the haters don’t just despise people in Allentown, but people that are different everywhere.
Two days later, The Morning Call finally published an article on Wednesday's "No Place For Hate" event where a large group of concerned Lehigh Valley citizens gathered at the new Palace Banquet and Conference Center to discuss their concerns of hate in the Lehigh [...]
I drove into a parking lot full of cars only to enter a building full of empty chairs. The chairs were very comfortable so I wasn't disappointed, and within minutes the people started showing up one at a time. Before I knew it, the place was packed! [...]
The excessive hatred continues at The Morning Call's forums despite over a years' worth of complaints from various Lehigh Valley outlets, including casual discussion. How much longer will it be tolerated?
I don't usually quote the hateful comments that I read in TMC's forums because [...]
The Morning Call has had a serious problem with hatred in their online forums. They have an even bigger problem monitoring it.
The Olive Ridley sea turtles, one of which is pictured left, are in danger of being extinct. They are a common creature in Orissa, a state in India. However, that could all change real fast.
On Monday, a fat guy's worst enemy made its debut in the Lehigh Valley. A new buffet opened its doors for the first time and quickly began its attack on my diet.
After a week full of crime and murder, Allentwon Mayor Ed Pawlowski gave a ridiculous presentation to some members of the Kiwanis Club (not all of whom are Allentown residents) at a Denny's Restaurant. I hope he at least left a tip this time...
This post is dedicated to Dick Cheney, George W. Bush, Tony Phyrillas, Tim Hardaway, The Westboro Baptist Church, and the rest of the anti-gay douche bags!"SAN FRANCISCO - California's Supreme Court declared that gay couples [...]
We all know how it ends so I'm not going to finish it. Actually, according to this article, it looks like somebody already did!
I think that picture best sums up the way Sam Bennett felt during her interview with Bernie. Can you blame her? It was three hours long and after all, she's only human. Bernie even referred to it as "root canal."
The self-proclaimed "embodiment of the change people want" also known as Sam Bennett was interviewed by blogging bastard Bernie O'Hare last week. Bernie let the people post the questions that we wanted answers to.
When shopping online, all buyers need to beware! There are a lot of con artists and frauds out there. Some "sellers" will take your money and run while others will falsely describe the item you think your purchasing.
The key to a safer Allentown is not the hiring of more police officers, nor is it a community watch program. It's a $10,000 hose.
A television show I enjoy watching is Celebrity Fit Club on VH1. The show is entertaining, educational, and even inspiring at times. I was inspired (to say the least) when Phil Margera expressed his feelings for wanting to live a longer life and proceeded to lose [...]
The Morning Call published an article about presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama supporter Rep. Patrick Murphy appearing on "The Colbert Report" with Stephen Colbert at 10:08 p.m. EST, over an hour before the show even aired.
