This is pretty cool - five Virginia governors sitting around talking about politics, raising money (and how much they hate it), blogs and other new media, qualifications for governor, etc. Check it out. [...]
“Virginia families are struggling financially with 10-plus percent unemployment and fallen home values. When Virginians are concerned about whether they will get another paycheck, government should not be spending time figuring out ways to make the people’s checkbooks that much harder to balance.” Doug Wilder, in [...]
General Assembly members should change this.
Yesterday’s election between Jeff McWaters and Rosemary Wilson included tons of advertising and spending. Rumors of how much was spent, and where it come from, abound.
The last time a campaign finance report was filed by either campaign was July 15th! [...]
Some thoughts on the symbol......Ohio Senate candidate Rob Portman earns that distinction thus far for advocating a one year payroll tax holiday to help stimulate the economy.
Portman said “to spur immediate investment by employers and encourage consumption by employees; I support a one year payroll tax holiday. Beginning immediately.... for workers and employers on [...]
The Falls Chamber of Commerce has had a particularly good year in a very difficult economic climate. It had a successful gala, hosted a series of popular luncheons, has signed up a slew of new members, published a new web site, and helped coordinate successful local business openings [...]
So the candidates have been nominated for an abbreviated winter campaign that will commence to see who fills that state senate seat of Attorney General-elect Ken Cuccinelli. It will be a test of Republican strength, Democrat resilience, and how strong a hold Gov. Bob McDonnell has over Virginia politics now. [...]

The following report is from a protestor who attended the Sarah Palin book signing this morning at the BJ's at Fair Lakes Shopping Center in Fairfax, Virginia. I thought it was worth passing along. Montana Sen. Max Baucus tried to nominate his boo (that's what the kids call a girlfriend) to be a federal attorney in the Big Sky State. But apparently it makes "no sense" to have an ethics inquery by a Congress that promised to drain the swamp of corruption.
I blame [...]

Rosemary Wilson attempted to make Jeff McWaters’ alleged belief in mandated health care the central focus in her campaign; McWaters focused on the economy. The results? [...]
I haven't spent as much time as I used too - or want too - talking about some of the great history books out there. Right now I'm working on three different books: Sarah Palin's "Going Rogue," a 2005 biography of former heavyweight champ Rocky Marciano, and a delightful book [...]
In the special election to fill the seat of Republican State Senator Ken Stolle, Virginia Beach Republicans overwhelming voted in favor of successful businessman, Jeff McWaters. By a vote of 4,776 to 2,815, Jeff McWaters defeated City Councilwoman, Rosemary Wilson.
"I" [...]
A healthy margin of victory sends Republican Jeff McWaters as the nominee to replace Ken Stolle in the Virginia Senate. An expensive and nasty race full of negative mailpieces and radio ads, plus some despicable blogging by some jerk whose name I can’t remember, ended with [...]
First, I want to give folks a heads up on a three-week project I”m working on. It’ll be an insight as to what I’m learning as a newly-minted supervisor in Fluvanna County, Virginia and what the process entails, how the major players interact, and what problems localities face from both [...]
