Not many people know this but I am a veteran. I don’t wear it on my sleeve or wear a hat that proudly proclaims it or march in parades in uniform. Quite honestly I don’t feel that my very uneventful 4 years and 1 month in the Air Force was [...]

I dodged a bullet yesterday, quite literally.
There were a series of shootings, robberies, and home invasions yesterday in the Oak Orchard area of Millsboro, and a robbery and shooting in the Harris Teeter grocery store that is in the same plaza where I work, and left some 45 minutes earlier.
You meet alot of interesting people when you get put in charge of a small, localized group of politically minded people. What is even more interesting is that other political “outsiders” wish to align with you, or get you to join in their quest.
SCCOR is an example, even though they [...]
If you want to figure out the constant internal struggle within the GOP then look no farther than our Delaware Blogosphere.
Dave Burris and David Anderson, two Republicans in the Delaware GOP. One is an old school, classic conservative with libertarian values and a streak of common sense, the other is [...]
You know… I hate not being able to share what is going through my mind.. so I am, and screw the consequences.
I am going through a tumultuous time in my life, and I have been since this last July 4th when my wife and I separated. I won’t go into [...]
This comment I just posted on Delaware Liberal. Reposting it here because it is too good to get shuffled down the echochamber. NSFW. Gratuitous F-bombs included.
This stimulus was a bill of goods, designed to be the savior of the economy directing money to shovel ready projects to preserve jobs and [...]
According to the Cape Gazette, the State of Delaware is looking at a preliminary $337 Million shortfall in the budget.
Some things to keep in mind:
1) We don’t know what is in the budget, and if it includes all of the temporary cuts that were made last year.
2) This number [...]
h/t to Nancy at The Delaware Way
Don’t know what side he is on, suspect he is a Democrat… that doesn’t matter.
I recently said in a Libertarian Party meeting the other day that I am learning that the Constitution is the “most irrelevant document in our government.” This video gives me [...]
I have received some vocal partisan criticism over my recent post about liking Joan Deaver’s attitude towards representation.
“Why would, as a Libertarian, vocally support a Democrat and be so vocal about not liking Sam Wilson, a Republican?”
One: have you met Sam Wilson? The man who, in the first full year [...]
All of the public debate has been about this damn healthcare plan, and quite frankly, healthcare is not my forte.
Another reason is that I am on both sides of the fence on this issue. I do agree that the insurance companies’ drive for profit is killing people, and defeats the [...]
I must say as the first year of Joan Deaver’s tenure as Sussex County Councilwoman draws to a close, she has been very impressive. Not only has she remained open to not only her constituents but to all Sussex Countians. She goes above and beyond the typical council person’s reactionary [...]
Check out Howard’s Blog, the Delmar Dustpan.
Apparently there are two people, a married couple, running for town council seats. One wrote a nasty letter which was published in the Salisbury News blog, and the other has accusations of a criminal history.
True or not, small town politics is always [...]
I hate the mob mentality of party politics.
“You vote the same as we do or else we will make it hard for you to run next election.” is the political equivalent of “You have a nice store here, proprietor, you pay us to protect it and nothing will happen [...]
I hope President Obama doesn’t plan on pulling out the race card every time he faces a challenge. I mean, the DNC doesn’t trot out Jimmy Carter unless they have to, and he doesn’t speak out on his own unless he is prodded.
Not like it was freakin’ obvious that race [...]
I don’t know how much longer I will be blogging. The passion just isn’t there, and my attention is being solely refocused on my new position at work, where I am now easily working 55ish hours a week.
It is kind of hard to get fired up about some bullshit pointless [...]
Had a thought.
The second amendment expressly explains our natural right to “bear arms.”
Many people take this literally to mean that we have the right to possess guns, but I had the stray thought today thinking that the founding fathers weren’t as obsessed with shiny objects as society is today. Why [...]
Work has consumed most of my available thought processes for the last week, being recently promoted to a new store as their General Manager.
In one way, I was glad to have the freedom to do what I wish to do without stressing the cost of my overtime, but on the [...]
I know the “Never Forget” slogan means that every year we have to acknowledge that our country’s heart was ripped out and lives were lost, but I can’t help but think, eight years later, that we are still fighting an aimless war two aimless wars because of the emotions caused [...]
So get out and vote!
Who for? Beats the hell out of me. I haven’t paid any attention to this election. Haven’t attended a debate, haven’t read a website. All I hear are the vague accusatory talking points..
He’s double dipping. She’s a lobbyist.
The talking point I hate the most is the [...]
What a childish baby.
If this is what the GOP is reduced to, a bunch of accusatory, crying, whackjob conspiracy theorists… then they really are desperate. Sad that it was working, too. The Right Wing sheeple ditto-heads who haven’t had an original political thought in their xerox brains ate that shit [...]
I don’t like that it is being held in a school and kids are going to be forced to watch it.
The President can talk to kids at any time he wants. He is the President. Make it a prime time kids event, and the parents can cuddle up next to [...]
Well, the first month was the 19th Special Election. I had my hands full.
Since then, really no excuse.
Politically, I have been dormant. Career-wise, I have been very active. Starting Monday I will be charge of my own store, being promoted to General Manager. Before then, I had alot of soul [...]
The situation in Georgetown which resulted in the loss of Officer Chad Spicer and wounded Officer Shawn Brittingham hasn’t happened in Delaware in over 37 years.
That unfortunate statistic is a hopeful one. As we hear about crime rates rising and the world going to hell in a handbasket, it is [...]
Both situation you pay and pay and pay into it, hoping to get some level of return for your money.
I guess Ponzi Schemes promise you a payout that never comes instead of having a company that you trusted in your time of need stick it to you over fine print [...]
Update: Officer’s name was Chad Spicer, Georgetown PD. Confirmed via CB radio messages and Facebook.
Update 2: Chad Spicer shot and killed, Shawn Brittingham shot and was rushed to Beebe Hospital. Via Sussex Countian.
A massive door to door manhunt is currently under way in the North East quadrant of Georgetown for [...]
…but noone showed up for the meeting.
So here I sit, in the Laurel Public Library, typing away a blog post when I should be planning a way to involve the Libertarian Party of Delaware into Delaware politics.
It is kind of hard to do by yourself.
It is also hard to do [...]
We all knew it was coming for the last year, but today’s news that Senator Kennedy passed from his year long battle with brain cancer still came as a shock to me. From someone who lives in a family full of success, honor, and tragedy, Ted has experienced all of [...]
Just an odd thought.
Liberals Progressives have attached the label of “birther” to someone who doesn’t believe that President Obama is a natural born citizen and the label of “deather” to someone who believes the Palin line of “Death Councils.”
Funny how these same liberal progressive labelers are the ones we label [...]
Here are a few things I have noticed you doing that I would not recommend you continue.
1) Leave the signs at home. Who are you talking to? Do you really think a graphic image of Obama gussied up as Hitler is going to change anyone’s mind?
2) Ask a question if [...]
Mike Matthews had triggered a thought on his Facebook page the other day and it bears repeating here:
Money represents my efforts in labor, as a common tool for our barter system. Involuntary taxes like FICA, SSI, Income tax, and the like take money from you by force. You have no [...]
Been quiet lately. Work has been rough, as well as trying to decide what long term goals I may end up having, since everything has been reformatted back to a clean slate. What spare time I do have has been used attending Libertarian Party functions and getting settled in my [...]
The following article was posted on the Tenth Amendment Center website. Delaware needs to follow suit, although I know for damn sure that they won’t.
I know that people who harp on the Constitution are considered to be fringe nutbags. Hell, we had a President who called it a “damned piece [...]
I saw an interesting note in last week’s edition of the Seaford Star, in the Letters section, where Barb Hudson publicly thanked those who attended her fundraiser held in July, especially Greg Full, Minner appointee to the Register of Wills, and County Councilwoman Joan Deaver, both Democrats.
The letter did not [...]
The Libertarian National Committee’s website, LP.org, has posted the party’s stance on the current healthcare debate.
From the Issues page:
Healthcare Making Healthcare Safe and AffordableAs recently as the 1960s, low-cost health insurance was available to virtually everyone in America - including people with existing medical problems. Doctors made house calls. [...]

From American Thinker:
I am stunned that the official White House Blog published this picture and that it is in the public domain. The body language is most revealing.Somehow this all ties together.
You all probably know that Dave Burris reappeared at Delaware Politics to rebut kavips’ post on CRI, and outed his identity in the process. Then ironically, anonymous comments revealed El Somnambulo’s and MJ’s identities, and kavips’ workplace.
Blogging anonymous has it’s advantages. You can pretty much say [...]
The voters in the 19th have spoken. When faced with four candidates, and only one with any real experience, they chose the legislator they could trust and could be relied upon.
Congratulations to Joe Booth for his victory. He has one legislative session to prove himself to the voters before they [...]
6:22:31 AM: The 19th Senatorial District race is a tight nailbiter. I will provide my insight from the polling places, and later on as the results r …
6:26:22 AM: Polls open all over the district at 7am, and close at 8pm. It’ll be a long day, and updates will roll [...]
This is a topic I have been wanting to blog about for a few weeks, but have not found the time, nor the brainpower to put two thoughts together.
SCCOR held a protest on Sunday about the Rehoboth Beach boardwalk revitalization that was being funded via pork from the Stimulus bill, [...]
Wanna know my prediction? All 4 candidates in the 20’s. Which one will be in the high 20’s to win it?
I want to hear your predictions.
I will also liveblog the whole day, my comings and goings, what I see and what I hear. It will be a long long liveblog. [...]
Ok. Now that y’all have had a day to read the 60 answers to the 15 questions that the News Journal posed, then realized they couldn’t fit in their newspaper, so they only posted them online…. I will give you my take on the answers given.
Realize I am biased [...]
The News Journal published a questionnaire online that they posed to all of the candidates of the 19th Senatorial District. Since 15 questions seem to be a little much, and there are 60 overall answers to those questions, I have taken the time to post all of the answers side [...]
Below is a full list of the 13 issues Wendy has addressed on her website.
Wendy Jones’ Positions on the Issues
Property Rights: The right to private ownership of property is the basic foundation on which this country was built. There can be no better stewards than those private owners; land [...]
Mike Castle was booed at an event in Georgetown on June 30th.
22 Days later it resurfaces, propelled by Drudge, and piggybacked by Limbaugh.
Sounds to me like the GOP is forcing Castle to retire by alienating his base.
[...]Clarification: the following post is my opinion and interpretation, and is no way to be construed as an official statement from the Jones campaign.

The talk of last night’s debate was all about how rude it was that Polly Mervine, the Democratic Candidate for the 19th Senate District Special Election, skipped [...]
6:05:10 PM: The event does not start until 7pm. This is only a test of the cell phone-Twitter-liveblog system.
6:16:35 PM: This liveblog will also be located at my blog, [bit.ly]
6:21:35 PM: And of course Wendy’s campaign website is [www.DelawareLiberty.com] Events are coming and updates will be posted there.
