Following the Springfield News-Leader story regarding the Nixon Administration rebidding 10 fee offices, Lloyd Smith, Executive Director of the Missouri Republican Party issued the following statement:
“This is the latest in a series of setbacks for Jay Nixon’s scandal-plagued fee office system. Nixon [...]Chad Livengood from the Springfield News-Leader is reporting that Alternative Opportunities, a non-profit run by Democrat donors, has had its ten winning contracts invalidated. Alternative Opportunities had named an outside contractor as the contract manager in violation of the bidding stipulations.
I was directly involved with one of the license office bids...
... and bear the deepest suspicions about the integrity of the bid award process.
I submitted a bid for one office [...]If that extra 5% approval seems like a big lead, keep in mind [...]
The NY Times is reporting that Russ Carnahan is Congress' third worst offender when it comes to taking privately financed trips. Since 2007 he has spent $81,175 on such trips, which 24th State points out, have never been explained or justified by Carnahan's office.
[...]Columbia Tribune - Jonathon Braden - 12/3/09
Pencils and notebooks resembling President Barack Obama’s 2008 campaign ads have been sold in at least one Columbia school and other public schools, causing the company that distributes the materials to travel around the state yanking the [...]
Kansas Democrats are at it again. First they picked retired pharmaceutical exec Tom Wiggans to run for Governor. Their candidate has never voted in Kansas and apparently only moved back from California to further his political ambitions. Now it's being reported that one of his companies has settled a multi-million [...]

I have been a skeptic of the Global Warming (GW) theory - not because I refuse to believe it possible, but because I am old enough to remember its origin. I was a lot younger in the late 1970’s, just out of college, married, and beginning to farm. [...]
The St Louis Business Journal is reporting that Tom Carnahan's Wind Capital Group got a quarter of a billion in loan guarantees [...]
Back in July we brought up our belief that James Ryan Williams wasn't acting alone - and the two names we brought up were Democrat politicians Bill Skaggs and Phil Snowden.

Matt Blunt: Missouri's Third Most Popular Governor
If you seek accurate information about Missouri governors, you haven't been getting it recently from KY3's Dave Catanese.
Take this weekend's report on a Survey USA poll about Jay Nixon. Mr. Catanese included [...]by Richard J. Marbury
Each year at this time school children all over America are taught the official Thanksgiving story, and newspapers, radio, TV, and magazines devote vast amounts of time and space to it. It is all very colorful and fascinating.
It is also very deceiving. This official story is nothing like [...]
The Lafeyette County Republicans put up this great editorial earlier - it's worth a read.
The Way We See It: Stouffer Is Skelton's Only Challenge to Re-Election

If you have previously read my column, it shouldn’t be difficult to ascertain my belief that Barack Obama is the worst President this country has ever produced. I also believe he is destroying much of what has traditionally [...]
You broke campaign finance laws, wanted to blame a former campaign staffer who had committed suicide, lied to the FBI and now you're going to jail for a year. What do you do? If you're Jeff Smith, you do a media interview.
Jack Miles is apparently trying to make a career out of getting Ike Skelton elected. His most recent editorial chides Republican candidates in the 4th District for spending too much time attacking Skelton and not enough attacking each other.
Some might remember him being on the opposite side of this [...]
Paul J. Wrabec was awarded the Independence fee office today. That makes two for Wrabec, who is linked to $11,450 in contributions directly to Nixon's gubernatorial campaign.
The Independence fee office does over $452,000 in transactions per year, making it a very lucrative financial contract. [...]
Putting the government in control of health care is an enormous logistical problem, and if the Obama Administration's previous track record is any indication, they're not up to the challenge. Its habit of rushing legislation, creating inefficient bureaucracies and failing to be straightforward about costs and impacts guarantees that the [...]
Just in case you missed it, the Senate and House health care bills contain hundreds of instances of the word "tax" (with all its variations).
DNR Laying Off 48 State Parks Workers (News-Leader)
After rushing through a decision to lay off 100 state parks workers, the DNR scales [...]
Rep. Maxine Waters, three time winner of the "Most Corrupt Members of Congress" award, is at it again. After Shell Oil President John Hofmeister attempted to explain to her the law of supply and demand, an outraged Waters declared her support for taking over and nationalizing oil companies.
This is clearly [...]
Nixon told the public that after the Department of Natural Resources launched an internal investigation into E.Coli-Gate, its habit of concealing health threats would be “fixed”. The investigation was a sham. KSDK has revealed that Travis Ford, one of Nixon’s investigators, was making misleading statements about a health risk at [...]
When James Ryan Williams and James Montee started revising their fee office bids, they raised some eyebrows. In several bids they drastically reduced the amount of money returned to the state (in the case of Lee's Summit, by more than 40%) and somehow managed to narrowly win the fee offices [...]
For something to listen to [...]
The Missouri GOP has uploaded video of Nixon's recent press conference, in which he dodges and evades questions about his knowledge of E.Coli-Gate. When the press asked him what information he was using when he said his office wasn't aware of E.Coli-Gate, Nixon never got further than "I'm not [...]
In a news conference today, Jay Nixon announced he was withdrawing Joe Bindbeutel's nomination to the Administrative Hearing Commission and reinstating Mark Templeton to the DNR as of Monday.
Bindbeutel's nomination was subject to Senate confirmation, a prospect that seemed increasingly insurmountable over the last few [...]New information from Joe Bindbeutel's interview with Senate investigators has Bindbeutel playing his same old game - giving out false information to protect the Nixon Administration.
DNR officials involved in E.Coli-Gate are being caught in a difficult position – many of them [...]
Yesterday KMBC joined a growing list of media outlets, including the Kansas City Star and St. Louis Post Dispatch, who have called upon Nixon to come clean about his role in E.Coli-Gate.
Jay Nixon is thinking about cutting another 300 jobs from the Missouri government payroll. It got us thinking about job security in the government, how some individuals connected to Nixon are protected despite blatant violations of the public trust, and how they got their very special form of job security.
Every once in a while, someone enters the political scene and you know that things will be different forever. This isn't one of those times.
Someday E.Coli-Gate will be made into a soap opera. We've never seen a political crisis with so many plot twists. Each new explanation of the crisis given by the Nixon Administration has turned the previous version on its head.
The downside, beyond the health hazards involved, is that there's at [...]
Two people in particular will be targets: Jeff Mazur and (once again) Joe Bindbeutel. [...]
Chad Livengood from the Springield News-Leader ran his own fact check of Nixon's Q&A with reporters. Like we did this morning, he found it hard to believe. An excerpt follows, you can read the full article here.
Gov. Jay Nixon is attempting to explain away his communications staff’s knowledge of [...]
Patrick Tuohey of The Missouri Record has written this article for the popular conservative blog BigGovernment. It’s a comprehensive look at the shady insider dealings that created E.Coli-Gate:
George Santayana said that those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it. This is certainly true in Missouri [...]
The economy since election day doesn't present a pretty picture. Every metric that should go up has gone down, and everything that should go down has gone up.
And finally, the national [...]
This situation keeps getting more and more absurd. The results of Nixon’s fee office bidding system fly in the face of his claims about ‘competition’ and ‘fairness’, and every week he repeats the same old lies. When Jay Nixon promised to implement a new system, what did [...]
