The 10th Ashland Trunk Show is tomorrow! This one kind of sneaked up on me but I'll be there with all' [...]

Handmade Holiday Craft Show
Fall Show Schedule This Sunday from 1-4 the Bizarre Market comes to Main Street, featuring art, craft, and art-related items for sale. Vendors will be set-up outside in the front parking lot or in the rear courtyard. Inside, in the Commons, we will feature vendors who are affiliated with the Center, and tables [...]
Lauren Luke is my favorite YouTube success story. A single mum (not mom, because she's British), she started making videos to accompany various makeup items she listed on e*Bay. Her videos completely eclipsed the auctions, however, when she started doing celebrity makeup looks, such as' [...]
Times is tough. Some folks say that lipstick sales go up in down economies because women spend $15 for a lippie instead of $150 on a new outfit. Maybe so, but why buy a lipstick when you can get a whole face full of makeup for [...]
Nordstrom gets some great exclusive/limited edition products. Blink and you'll miss em, especially from the most popular brands like MAC. Trish McEvoy doesn't get nearly the press/fanatical ravings that MAC does but it's still a very nice brand. Her 'Planner' concept may or may not appeal' [...]
GRID - a new magazine about living, working, and (my favorite part) playing in the heart of Richmond, VA just came off the presses. The launch party was full of Richmond's brightest, most creative and stylish folks. Also I was there.
You know how sometimes you're shopping and you're like "Oh, hell". Because you've just seen something that you KNOW you have to buy? This palette made me go "Oh, hell" in a major way. The really good news is each of NYX's new palettes is [...]
So, it's Shark Week on TV, but here I decided it's Palette Week. I'll be featuring a palette every day this week.

Another fun, metallic/glimmer eyeliner, this time from Rimmel's Underground sub-brand. This is honestly the first product that's really intrigued me from Underground. It comes in five shades - purple, blue, green, black/gold, and brown. Yet another choice if you're looking to spark up your look but' [...]
Okay, wow. These are like a dead-on dupe of Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliners. Soft, creamy, and easy to apply yet they wear very well. I purchased in Bronze and it's a dead ringer for Bourbon. At $9.99 each I will probably only buy BOGO but there [...]
What a name, right? This mascara claims to lengthen as much as lash extensions, and while I can't exactly prove that, I can say it does live up to most of its claims. It takes a few minutes more than regular mascara to make it look' [...]
It was all I could do not to scoop up the whole lot of them, but do yourself a favor and pick up a nice new color for the summer. These and the new HD polishes (can you say bright?) are like eye candy, but for [...]
I've been on a quest for the perfect dark brown, shimmery liner. Some dark brown liners have a lot of red in them, others aren't dark enough or are too dark, and matte/flat liners can make the eyelids look crepey and dry. I must have looked [...]
Unlike the disappointing Anastasia Brow Stencils I purchased a few days ago, these stencils actually fit my face and brow size/shape well. For $6, you get 4 stencils with slightly differing shapes. The stencils actually have quite a bit of excess plastic and trimming them down [...]

I did a bit of purchasing from Avon on and off last year...I really was impressed with most of the stuff I got, especially considering their very reasonable prices. One of my favorite products that I'd order 4 at a time was the Clearskin Cleansing Pads.' [...]
Lina at Le Visage is SO friendly and will not steer you wrong if you need some new makeup for spring and summer! Time to freshen up your look. Here's the latest news from Le Visage (3007 W. Cary Street, across from Plan 9). Cheese AND' [...]

This week's been a whirlwind of activity for all of us getting ready for the Spring Bada Bing, and I'm up late making sure everything's ready! Hey, all you Independent Radio fans!
Tune in to FM 97.3 WRIR, Richmond’s Radio For the Rest of Us, tomorrow morning at 7:30 a.m. and get your day started with some Richmond Craft Mafia chat. Amy George of Modern Atelier and Maryellen Kim of Twist [...]

R. and I went to see Coraline today, the lovely stop-motion, 3-D movie from Neil Gaiman and Tim Burton. I thought it was great - spooky and creepy enough, but not too scary for the youngsters. In case you didn't know, Coraline has blue hair AND' [...]
The Beth Bender Get in Line kit was a great find during the time I was writing for Richmond.com. I thought it was so cool, and really got good results with it but since my review it's sat almost completely unused. This morning I decided' [...]

Love, love, love these. Much nicer than tendertones which I find too plastic-y without being moisturizing. The shades are actually quite subdued for MAC, which means they're great for work, weekend, etc. I have even been known to wear them to bed for overnight moisturizing. I' [...]

At full price I would definitely not recommend this lipgloss. The flavor is good, the shine is average, but the shade is quite opaque and depending on your skintone may look like ghost or zombie makeup. I wish I had tried a different shade, as I [...]
On our recent trip to the beach, I was surprised to find Jordana/InColor cosmetics kiosks in the beachfront shops every few blocks. It's a difficult to find brand, mostly in dollar stores and Korean supermarkets. Some Walgreens stores have a partial display, mostly liners and lip [...]
