This appears to be movement on the part of Democrats regarding Cap and Trade.Republicans on the legislative jobs committees are under-whelmed by the Democrats new-found willingness to talk about job creation. With the changes that were passed in the 2009-11 state budget, their latest efforts are too little, too late.

With 60 votes needed to pass the Nelson/Hatch amendment to Obamacare to prohibit huge federal subsidies for abortion, it is not surprising that the amendment failed on a 54 to 45 vote. Seven Democrats voted in favor of Nelson/Hatch and two Republicans opposed the pro-life amendment.

That’s the latest non public, public option. Even Politico.com recognizes that this new plan is really the “public option” with a new name:

It's not a question if Democrats won't play it, it's a question as to when the voters will get tired of hearing them blame someone else for them not doing anything.
